Mountain biking
Like no other sport, in that it can literally take you places, and transform you once you arrive. It's like life: all the tough climbs inevitably pay-off with exciting opportunities.
How We're Organized:
NICA
The National Interscholastic Cycling Association is our lead organizational body. They provide training, insurance and guidance for our Pennsylvania league.
PICL
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League is our state league. They run our programs, trainings and meets directly. They are the our connection to NICA.

there are three types of NICA team organizations; School district, composite and Independent. The Hammer are two types:
This structure means:
Team finances are a function of the district Outdoor Club.
Your donations are tax deductible.
Team accounting is professional and transparent.
2. Composite Team
This structure means:
We can accommodate riders from outside the DASD.
For all meaningful purpose, both teams function exactly the same. If not published here, you would never know it was two teams. For reasons important for meets and organizational needs of the league and national headquarters, it is important for us to be organized in this way…but we operate as one.
When you put all these organizations together, and you add training and experience and passion for mountain biking and the outdoors you get a dedicated staff of people who offer students between 6th and 12th grade a top level Coaching experience that has made Mountain biking one of the fasting growing interscholastic sports, and undeniably one of the most popular in our region.
